Munchkin & Bear | Children's Play Mats

After the birth of her second child, Munchkin & Bear founder, Alana, noticed that her house was becoming less of a nurturing space and more of a crèche slowly filling up with garish primary colours. So she set about to design a practical, safe play mat that was durable enough for all ages to play on but still looked stylish - the sort of play mat that you would happily display in your sitting room. Following rigorous testing, research and a few changes along the way (their first mats were made with a different material) they settled on making mats from TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane). Which means their mats are: made from safe, non-toxic material, waterproof and easy to clean, durable and they’re shock absorbent and with a protective memory foam core. Plus the stylish designs are in soft, muted tones and are reversible - once your baby or child has finished playing, they make great yoga mats!
