Listique’s Recommendation

What’s not to love about this Mayfair oasis? Tucked away inside an 18th-century townhouse on Dover Street, the institution boasts a splendid array of rooms, exquisite restaurants, a cigar room, nightclub, and the new world-class Lanserhorf health club. With Prince Phillip, Duke of Edinburgh as a patron and Sir Peter Blake as the president, this Member’s Club is one of London’s most elite.

About The Arts Club

Founded in 1862 by none other than Charles Dickens and co, The Art’s Club is one of London’s oldest treasures. It was envisioned as a haven for people with relationships with the Arts, Literature or Sciences, and has been providing hospitality and friendship ever since. Located close to the Royal Academy, throughout the 19th century it became known as place where people such as Monet and Kipling socialised. What sets this place apart is it’s member’s access to exclusive events and talks; their robust arts programme presents a diverse range of topics and speakers. Previous events have included private performances from the likes of Soul II Soul and talks from curatorial giants like Hans Ulrich. Lavish rooms throughout the building are adorned with curated works from the Club’s impressive art collection. For anyone fascinated by the arts, membership is essential.
