Invictus Games

The Invictus Games was the brainchild of Prince Harry. After his combat experience he wanted to do something to help the many servicemen and women suffering from life-changing injuries, visible or otherwise, whilst serving their country.

The word ‘invictus’ means ‘unconquered’. It embodies the fighting spirit of wounded, injured and sick Service personnel and personifies what these tenacious men and women can achieve post injury. The Games harness the power of sport to inspire recovery, support rehabilitation and generate a wider understanding and respect for those who serve their country.

The Invictus Games has been postponed twice and will next be hosted by The Hague in the Netherlands and sponsored by Jaguar Land Rover. This will be the fifth Invictus Games and 19 nations will be taking part, bringing together 500 competitors along with their support staff and families.
