Royal Academy

Founded by King George III and 40 artists and architects in 1768, The Royal Academy has been exhibiting art and promoting artistic debate for over two and a half centuries in Burlington House in Piccadilly. From ancient sculptures to modern masterpiece, the Academy features exhibitions from across the full spectrum of artistic creativity. The academy is also home to Britain’s longest established art schools. Never content to rest on its laurels, the Academy has recently expanded with new spots to eat, drink and shop, as well as new ‘free to view’ exhibiting space. There is something for everyone at the Academy; there are talks especially designed for younger visitors and even a private members club, The Academician’s Room, which hosts parties, film screenings and interviews.
