Founded by motoring pioneers in 1897, The Royal Automobile Club offers its members and guests accommodation, dining, sports, events and leisure facilities across two club houses.
Located on Pall Mall, The Royal Automobile Club’s grand clubhouse in London was designed by architects Charles Mewes and Arthur Davis who had constructed Ritz hotels in Paris and London. Opening in 1911, the clubhouse's leisure and sporting facilities were particularly admired and now the clubhouse features bars, restaurants, private dining rooms, accommodation and facilities such as a swimming pool.
The club’s second clubhouse (added in 1913), Woodcote Park, is set in 350 acres of Downs countryside in Surrey and features two 18-hole golf courses, pool, squash courts, a gym, tennis courts and treatment rooms.
The club still has a strong focus on motoring with a programme of activities including factory tours, visits to concours events and Woodcote Park’s Midsummer Drive-In and Grand Prix screenings.
